  • ½ cup fresh cherries— sweet ripe, and beautifully vibrant (frozen cherries work wonderfully when out of season)
  • 1 tablespoon pure vanilla extract — for soft warmth and aromatic depth or vanilla syrup for a sweeter, café-style finish
  • 1 cup milk of choice — whole milk for classic richness or oat, almond, or coconut for a dairy-free alternative
  • 1 shot freshly brewed espresso — or strong full-bodied coffee for a beautifully robust base
  • Sugar honey, or preferred sweetener, to taste — adjust to create your perfect balance
Optional Finishing Touches
  • Lightly whipped cream — for an extra layer of indulgence dairy-free versions work beautifully too
  • A few extra cherries — fresh glazed, or chocolate-dipped for an elegant garnish
  • Dark chocolate shavings — delicate decadent, and the perfect finishing flourish

Method
 

Brew the Coffee
  1. Begin by preparing a fresh shot of espresso, or brew a small cup of strong, full-bodied coffee. This rich, aromatic base brings depth and balance to every sip.
Create the Cherry-Vanilla Purée
  1. Place the pitted cherries and vanilla into a blender, then blend until smooth, silky, and beautifully vibrant. This jewel-toned mixture is where the latte gets its signature character.
Warm the Milk
  1. Pour your milk of choice into a small saucepan and gently warm over a medium heat until steaming—hot, but never boiling. For an extra café-style finish, froth until light, airy, and velvety.
Build Your Latte
  1. In your favourite mug, pour in the freshly brewed espresso, followed by the cherry-vanilla purée. Slowly top with the warm milk, allowing the flavours to swirl together beautifully.
Sweeten to Taste
  1. Add a little sugar, honey, or your preferred sweetener, stirring gently until fully dissolved. Taste, adjust, and make it entirely your own.
Finish & Serve
  1. Top with a few extra cherries, a soft spoonful of whipped cream, or a scattering of dark chocolate shavings if you’re feeling indulgent… then serve immediately and savour every sip.
